Our hose technician and all-round fabulous team member, Emily Stronge-Taylor, is taking on the Great North Run in September, raising money for the Versus Arthritis charity.
Having been diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis three years ago, this is a charity that’s very personal to Emily so we’re hoping she can raise as much as possible.
Emily will be taking her place alongside 60,000 other runners on the 10th September in the largest half marathon in the world. She will be pounding the streets from Newcastle upon Tyne to South Shields and can’t wait to take on the challenge.
Commenting on her fundraising, Emily said, ‘This is something very personal for myself so I’m hoping to raise much needed funds for the Versus Arthritis charity, it is the UK’s largest charity dedicated to supporting people with arthritis and provides much needed support to those who have been diagnosed with the disease. I’m not a runner so this is a big challenge for me but so far the training is going well and I’m looking forward to enjoying the experience.’

We’ll be sharing updates on how Emily’s training is going prior to the big day and of course, a picture of her with her medal after the run.
