Introduction
Our client is a global organisation operating vessels for both commercial freight and passenger travel, docking at ports across the north east on a regular basis.
The Problem
Our clients’ vessel was approaching dock at the Port of Tyne when we were contacted on a Sunday lunch time to support their urgent requirements.
Hydraulic tanks within the vessel were required to be filled with several thousand litres of oil, however, new oil delivery hose was required in
order for the smooth transference of the solution.
The Solution
Due to the time constrains the vessel was under, our team responded rapidly to the vessel’s request. An analysis of the hose required was carried out and stock was checked at our Sunderland workshop.
Over 80 metres of oil delivery hose was manufactured and delivered on board the vessel within four hours of the original enquiry
Summary
As this hybrid vessel had limited time at the north east port, it was essential our team responded quickly to their request. Due to the large amounts of stock kept at our Sunderland workshop, we were able to identify, manufacture and deliver the hose required to ensure zero disruption to the vessel’s service.
“The quick response of our team to this emergency call-out ensured zero disruption for our client. Being based close to all north east ports enables our team to react quickly to emergency requirements and this was a great example of that.”
