Higher Pressure Hose Assemblies

9th May 2024

Introduction

Our client is a north east based engineering company supplying components to oil & gas projects throughout the world.

The Problem

We were requested to attend our clients workshop to view their processes and production line as they required support to supply high temperature oil hose assemblies which needed to be successfully worked at over 100 deg C.

Any solution needed to be able to withstand these high temperatures on a prolonged basis

The Solution

HOS technicians attended the site and discussed the working parameters of the system with our client. When the demands of the system were identified, our team specified stainless steel metallic hose assemblies complete with double stainless steel overbraid.

Flame retardent sleeve ‘Fire Sleeve’ was used as this is manufactured from ‘E’ glassfibre yarn which is knitted to form a sleeve and coated with high-grade silicone elastomer rubber.

Summary

Working alongside our client, our technicians identified the correct hose assemblies and sleeves for the application. The fire sleeve which has been used will offer our client an operating temperature of 260 deg C while also being able to withstand a molten metal splash of 1200 deg C.
