Pipework leakage problem found, analysed & rectified by the HOS team

14th June 2021

Introduction

Our customer is a UK based subsea engineering company.  They manufacture, test and supply safety-critical parts to companies operating across the world and have been a client of HOS for many years.

The Problem

The company were experiencing continual leakage from threaded connections on pipework.

The issues were causing interruption to their manufacturing process and in turn, downtime for the plant.

A solution was needed to be found to ensure the continued supply of safety-critical parts to their customer.

Our customer approached us to help them investigate and solve the ongoing issue.

The Solution

Several visits and project meetings were organised with the client to discuss the ongoing issues and discuss possible
solutions.

The HOS technical team analysed the overall system and initiated a schedule of works to remove all related
pipework.

New pipe spools were manipulated on-site with Parker E02 soft seal connections along with 6000psi rated socket weld connections.

Tests were carried out and results examined to ensure no further leakage on the system.

Summary

The HOS team initiated huge improvements to the pipework and related systems to enable our customer to continue with an uninterrupted manufacturing and testing process.

This allowed our customer to continue with a busy production run throughout 2020.

“Our technical team were quickly able to evaluate, test and find a solution to the ongoing pipework problem to enable our customer to continue with an uninterrupted supply, we’re delighted we could assist on such a time and safety critical project.”
Don Fenwick – HOS Managing Director
