Renewable energy sector a target for HOS

Renewable energy use increased 3% in 2020 as demand for all other fuels declined. The primary driver was an almost 7% growth in electricity generation from renewable sources.

Whilst HOS’ initial growth was centred around the oil, gas and ship repair industries, over recent years we have concentrated our strategy around the renewable energy sector including onshore and offshore wind.

Further to our exhibition attendance at the successful Offshore Wind NE event in December 2021, we have continued our commitment to the sector with attendances at further recent events.

Dogger Bank Meet the Buyer

Dogger Bank Wind Farm is a group of offshore wind farms under construction 125 to 290 kilometres off the east coast of Yorkshire, England in the North Sea. It was developed by the Forewind consortium, while three phases were envisioned – first phase, second phase and third phase.

We were delighted to attend this prestigious event at the beautiful Hardwick Hall in Sedgefield, north east England.

The event included presentations from Dogger Bank, Port of Tyne, North Star Renewables and GE Renewable Energy and discussed their plans for the project and opportunities within the supply chain.

SeAH Wind

Global pipe manufacturer SeAH Wind, announced plans in February 2022 to build an  offshore wind monopile factory in Teesside.

A UK subsidiary of Korean steel manufacturer SeAH Steel Holdings, the company announced that it would invest £200-300 million in the facility at the Teesworks industrial zone and freeport.

The networking lunch, organised by NOF and held again at Hardwick Hall in Sedgefield, enabled the delegates to hear from SeAH Wind on the project, the opportunities for the supply chain and project timescales etc.

The Tees Valley Major, Ben Houchen, was also in attendance providing insight into the project and the wider economic and social impact within the north east area.

We’re looking forward to becoming a valuable member of the renewable energy supply chain and supporting the growth of the north east.
